The first written record of the settlement, from 1360, links it to Sázava Monastery. Between the lower and upper village greens stands a wooden chapel of St John of Nepomuk, dating from 1898, with a bell tower. A notable oak from the period of the Slavat family's rule also grows in the settlement.
